This is book 2 of the 'Scars of the Wraiths series' must be read in order, even if each book is mainly about new characters - the books build upon eachother .. This is Kilter and Raynes Strory!Kilter Is extremely stubborn, harsh, and has trust issues - even from his own kind (other Scars)..
Rayne lost her parents when she was 10years old and has been living in a compound as a science experiment .. She has a lot in common w/Kilter - she doesn't trust, standoff, and she is slowly wasting away to the point of death..
We 1st meet Rayne at the end of book 1 when Kilter finds her as he is going in after other scars and while in there Rayne is helping Kilter and she asks him to take her with him.. Kilter tries; however, she is too weak and small to keep up and if he has any hope w his mission, he must come back for her.. Rayne doesn't believe that will ever happen..
In this book, Kilter keeps his promise and finds Rayne and is able to get her out of that place and then they blow it up....
From this point there are so many twists, secrets, feelings that these two begin to feel and don't know how to handle their feelings... We also get the secondary characters as well... From - Roarke, A friend who did what he could for Rayne while being held up in that awful place.. Then the rest of gang from bk1 show up and each have a story of their own and the last 10-20% of the book just blew my mind.. I knew the secret what's HUGE.. But - OMG!! This is a great series, I could not put this book down,nor bk 1.. Now I want to read the next one.. Very excited to know what happens now..

Nashoda Rose is one my favorite paranormal story tellers. There is the perfect amount of suspense, action, and other worldly abilities. Kilter and Rayne are the featured couple, however there are other subplots that keep the reader thoroughly engaged.
This book can be read as a stand alone. I enjoyed the first and enjoyed this one, too. She spins a wonderful tale, with interesting characters. Some of them rather intense.
I have been waiting for this story and, although it was heartbreaking at times and I cried like a baby, it was definitely worth the wait! Love this series and all of the characters.
I thought I would give the second book in this series a try, I really wish I hadn't. This book is just as weird and loopy as the first. These books just don't make a lot of sense and reference creatures that are not well defined.
I'm obsessed! And I haven't said that about a series in ages! I love everything about these books, but most especially the characters. I'm as crazed about this series as I am with BDB and that's says a lot! If you haven't started this series, then get on it!
I love this series. I think it's probably the best one I've ever read. The characters are amazing and I spend a lot of time crying during the sad parts and laughing during the happy parts. And I read a lot and most of the time, I know what is going to happen before it does. But I'm not able to do that with these books. I'm looking forward to the next book.
What a great sequel to Stygian, the first book in the series. I thought Stygian was OK,, but this book is fantastic scorching passionate love between Kilter and Rayne, action packed, lots of twists and turns and surprises in the plot and a host of great secondary characters, all who are worthy of having their own book.
The author did a much better job with world building in this book, so I got the relationships between the various creatures and how they fit into the larger plot better. This book also dealt with the issue of anorexia very well, as it did with PTSD in the first book.
But watching the passion and love build between Rayne and Kilter was exquisite, they have that kind of epic love that is the stuff that dreams are made of. I was nearly heartbroken of the way things turned out for Damien and Abby, won't give it away but you'll need some tissue to make it thru their scenes at the end of the book. Also, I can't wait to read Dalera and Waleron's story, talk about unrequited love! Awesome job!!!!
