Another wonderful Indie author discovered today... (thank you Kindlemojo!) I found this book to be so charming and exactly what I needed after slogging through a "Best selling author" and feeling hours of my life had been wasted. I certainly didn't feel as if I wasted even a moment on this wonderful story. I did not, however, get any of my housework done as I picked up this book and read it straight through. I enjoyed the language used (both the time period as well as the local), and connected with the character's emotions. I thought the story was full of great humor (always a plus) while dealing with the reality of life and love which isn't always so funny. Add in the twist of the first Queen Elizabeth showing up in your garden and you are in for a treat. This was a wonderful first novel and I will absolutely be looking for more to come from Lesley Dimmock.Product details

It is entertaining, and quite engaging once you start reading it.
Special Things, Wonderful Things
An entertaining light read, but I found the references to lesbian relationships unnecessary and I fear there is potential to alienate some readers, which is a shame because the story otherwise has potentially wide appeal.
